Communications
Secure Internet Transfer Agent (SITA)
SITA is an HTTP Client application that can communicate
securely and reliably, directly with GIS, to allow your Trading
partners to exchange Business Documents with you. You can
see it as a simplified version of EDI-INT AS2. SITA is in
use by such organisations as Myer, eCOM and 4Solutions Enterprises.
HTTP is an ideal protocol for providing file transfer as
it is easily controlled through an organisations firewalls.
The client software is provided as a .Net application on
Windows, and as a Java application for other platforms. The
application has two components. The first component is used
to configure the software and to define communication “Profiles”.
These profiles determine how, where and what files are transferred.
The second component executes the “Profiles” via
a command line interface. This allows the client to automate
and schedule the communication sessions using their preferred
method.
At the GIS end, SITA is provided as a single Business Process
operating on a HTTP Server Adapter. Security is provided through
GIS Accounts and enabling SSL on the HTTP Server Adapter.
SITA can utilise the GIS Mailbox system as the message storage
location if you are licensed, else can run independently.
The Client and Server utilise a unique hand-shaking protocol
to ensure files are delivered reliably and that any transmission
failures are recovered to ensure no loss of files.
WebSuite Adapter for GIS (WSA)
The WebSuite product was provided by Sterling Commerce to
provide HTTP client communications with the older Gentran
products. It has since been sunset by Sterling and was never
converted to operate with GIS. The ITAC WebSuite Adapter was
built to allow customers with a WebSuite community to connect
them to GIS without the need to change the WebSuite Client
software.
The WSA maintains the reliable file-transfer mechanism of
WebSuite and provides an Adapter to GIS that allows files
to be transferred directly to and from GIS
